“WAITING FOR GODOT” by Samuel Becket

The internationally renowned Greek director Theodoros Terzopoulos and the theatrical masterpiece that defined the 20th century, “Waiting for Godot” by Samuel Beckett, are presented by the Nicosia International Festival on Friday, October 31st, and Saturday, November 1st.

Who, after all, is the elusive Godot who never appears? A savior, perhaps—even God himself—as suggested by the English name’s resemblance to “God”? The play raises the question of our attempt to communicate and coexist with the Other—the one in front of us—this inscrutable, shadowy realm of repressed desires and fears.
