Inspired by the Cypriot poet Kostas Montis, the young yet already acclaimed choreographer Chloe Bellou presents, in the framework of the Nicosia International Festival 2025, a unique “fusion” of contemporary dance and poetry, titled “Moments”. The performance will take place on Saturday, 22 November 2025, at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre (20:30).

The inspiration

This is a performance that transcends the boundaries of traditional choreography, combining dance, live music, a choir accompaniment, and visuals to create an artistic dialogue between dancers and musicians. The stage becomes a meeting point for the ephemeral and the eternal, the everyday experience and metaphysical exploration.
Contemporary dance and poetry merge into a multi-sensory experience. The performance does not narrate poetry, but rather transforms it into movement, sound, and image, inviting the audience to discover their own meanings through this experience. The poetry of Montis becomes a source of inspiration, turning the performance into a living work of art that does not explain but inspires. The plot explores the violation of personal and social freedom, as well as the darker aspects of human existence — silence, anguish, and anticipation.

Moments… and traces
The performance is imbued with a deep sense of hope and renewal. A space where each person can rediscover their own “moments,” a space where poetry meets movement and every spectator becomes a fellow traveller.
On stage, six dancers and four musicians will offer many magical moments to the audience. These Moments becoming marks, make you realise that what you see… is not truly what you see.
The performance features the Musica Mundana School of Music choir, conducted by Gianna Thalassinou.
