53rd “CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE” by the Cyprus Sports Journalists Association

The countdown has begun for the 53rd Celebration of Excellence, held annually since 1974 by the Cyprus Sports Journalists Association (CSJA). This year’s premier sports awards ceremony in Cyprus will take place on Thursday, 15 January 2026, at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, starting at 21:00.
 
As every year, the Celebration of Excellence is held under the auspices of the Cyprus Sports Organization (CSO) and will be broadcast live by the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC). The CSJA is once again supported as Grand Sponsor by OPAP Cyprus.
 
During the Celebration, the top athletes of the year are honoured. The selection of these top performers for the country’s most prestigious sports awards is an exclusive privilege of sports journalists.
 
In addition to the leading athletes, the CSJA recognises individuals with a notable presence in Cyprus’ sporting life, awarding them Excellence Awards for their contributions.
 
The CSJA Excellence Award is traditionally presented by the President of the Republic of Cyprus.
